Good afternoon. Today, at approximately 1249 hours, officers were dispatched to 189 May Street, M.A.Y. In reference to two people who worked at Charlene Rehab, observing a deceased body in the woods. Upon further examination, we believe this person to be Karen Solomon. In addition to the surrounding area. We did locate a handgun in the area of the body. Again, this is a preliminary identification. Forensically, this still needs to be vetted to the ME's office, but we do believe it's our. In addition to that, we were searching these areas, doing concentric searches, and this area was going to be part of a further search. As you know, we concentrated in the Coase Pond area, and if you look at the distance between the last video of her getting into the water that we released to the media, it's approximately 0.6 miles from that area. The Coes Pond area and Park is approximately 90 acres, so that's what we've been searching since day one, and I also want to come back to when we put out that this was a domestic incident. That's based on Mass General law. Any time there's a family or household household member, it constitutes a domestic as far as for crimes. At no time did the Solomon family have any history of domestic abuse? I want to make myself absolutely clear at this point that has nothing to do with this case. We believe this case is a tragic murder suicide that occurred, and we still have plenty of work to do as far as wrapping up all the pieces to this. Again, it's tragic. The family has reached out and have given me a statement to read, and I'm going to do that now. This is from the Solomon family. The nightmare of the past week has left our family heartbroken and rudderless. The compassion, dedication, empathy of all agencies involved have given us light in face of darkness. The selflessness of those who have helped us weather the storm cannot be expressed in simple words. However, we, the members of the Solomon family, will try. We thank the Worcester Police Department, Massachusetts State Police, the Worcester and Holden Fire Departments, the Auburn Police and Fire Department Police Department, the U.S. Marshals Service, Homeland Security Investigations Unit, U.S. Attorney's Office, and all the respective federal partners. You men and women have taken time over your lives to help us finances, if there ever will be any. You have given us comfort knowing that you are working on our behalf for us. God bless you all. For those in Massachusetts and throughout the world who have offered up prayers and sympathies, they have helped us through each minute of the day. Thank you for your basic human compassion. We do have things in place for mental health, health wellness for the officers to take advantage of, and you know we're hoping everyone does that because it is very difficult.
