Glow party, the big parade, Sebastian Maniscalo: 5 weekend things

There’s a whole lot going on this weekend. Yes, a lot of it is related to St. Patrick’s Day, but not all of it. The Worcester Guardian highlights events you may want to consider.

Here are five picks of things to do in Worcester this weekend:

  1. Glow big or go home: Get ready to light up the night at MB Lounge’s Glow Party on Saturday, March 15. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the neon energy kicks in at 9 p.m. with a $10 cover. DJ Lary takes over at 10 p.m., keeping the dance floor buzzing under black lights. Dress in your brightest neon for a chance to win cash prizes for the best glow-up. Limited glow gear will be available, so arrive early, grab a drink, and get ready to shine.
  2. Sebastian Maniscalco says “It Ain’t Right”: Sharp-witted and unapologetic, Sebastian Maniscalco brings his It Ain’t Right tour to the DCU Center on Sunday, March 16. Known for skewering the absurdities of modern life—sky-high prices, social media madness, and disappearing manners—Maniscalco delivers his signature brand of observational humor with a dose of old-school sensibility. Expect a night of side-splitting takes on everything that just doesn’t sit right.
  3. Rock meets the Highlands: Forget everything you thought you knew about bagpipes. The Red Hot Chilli Pipers bring their fiery ‘bagrock’ sound to the Hanover Theatre on Saturday, March 15, blending traditional Scottish tunes with rock anthems from AC/DC, Queen, and Coldplay. With world-class musicianship and a setlist that swings from the glens of Scotland to the heart of rock and roll, this isn’t your average pipe band—it’s a full-throttle, kilt-clad spectacle. Tickets start at $34.
  4. Park Ave turns green: Worcester’s St. Patrick’s parade and party scene: Worcester’s 43rd annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade steps off at noon on Sunday, March 16, turning Park Ave into a sea of green from Mill Street to Highland Street. But the party doesn’t stop there—bars and venues across the city are keeping the celebration going with live music, Irish fare, and plenty of Guinness. Catch Nasty Habits, a Rolling Stones tribute band, at Worcester MCL on Lake Ave for an after-party featuring the Claire McInerny Irish Step Dancers. The Midnight Riders take the stage at Loft 266 with a $10 cover, while The Bubbleheads rock the White Eagle on Green Street at 3 p.m., where you can also grab a plate of corned beef and cabbage. These are just a few of the many spots keeping the spirit alive long after the last float rolls by.
  5. Galileo’s daughter lights up the stage: 4th Wall Stage Company brings Searching for Galileo’s Daughter to the Worcester Historical Museum this weekend, with performances on Friday, March 15, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, March 16, at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. This sharp and insightful comedy follows a playwright in crisis who escapes to Florence, drawn to the letters between Galileo and his brilliant daughter, Maria Celeste. Forced into a convent despite her intellect, Maria’s resilience inspires the writer’s own search for truth. Directed by Barbara Guertin and starring Robbin Joyce, Jerry Bisantz, and Sandy Clancy, this play blends history, humor, and heart.
