WORCESTER—Smiley Ball is trading the baseball diamond for the burrito line next month as part of a fundraiser benefiting the WooSox Foundation.
Anna’s Taqueria announced that the Worcester Red Sox mascot will appear April 14 at its Natick location for a public event where proceeds from food sales will support the WooSox Foundation and its community programs, according to a release.

The event, scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. at Anna’s Taqueria, 1265 Worcester St. in Natick, is part of the restaurant’s Mascot Rolling Series, which invites New England sports mascots to work behind the counter to raise money for charitable causes connected to their teams.
During the event, Smiley Ball will join WooSox volunteers known as “Dreammakers” to roll burritos and serve guests. Anna’s Taqueria will donate proceeds from each entrée purchased during the event to the WooSox nonprofit organization, the release stated. Attendees will also receive branded keepsakes, and a raffle will be held for a four-pack of tickets to a game at Polar Park.
According to the release, the WooSox Foundation supports families across Worcester, Massachusetts and the broader New England region through initiatives focused on education, social justice, cancer support and recreation.

Anna’s Taqueria launched the Mascot Rolling Series as a way to bring local sports teams and community organizations together through fundraising events open to the public. The Natick appearance marks the latest installment in the series featuring regional mascots.
The April 14 event is free to attend, with food purchases supporting the fundraiser. More information is available at annas.com, according to the release.
