WORCESTER—Several students from Burncoat, Doherty and South High schools have gotten some amazing recognition for their musical skills. The Massachusetts Music Educators Association (MMEA) has recognized 29 students from Worcester and invited them to perform at the Central Massachusetts Senior Music Festival on Jan. 13, 2024, at Mechanics Hall.
Sixteen of those students are eligible to audition for MMEA’s annual All State Concert, which will be held at Boston’s Symphony Hall on March 23 and represent the best student musicians in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, according to an announcement.
The audition process draws about 1,400 students from 60 high schools, with 400 selected for the senior division festival. Additionally, the students who received the “All State Recommendations” are eligible to audition and perform in the All State Music Festival; they scored in the top half of all students who auditioned.
