30 Worcester runners take on 2025 Boston Marathon

From first-timers to seasoned athletes, Worcester is well-represented in this year’s race

WORCESTER—The Boston Marathon is more than just a race; it’s a test of endurance, determination, and heart. For many runners, it’s a personal milestone, a tribute to loved ones, or a way to raise awareness for causes close to their hearts.

On Monday, April 21, 30 Worcester residents lace up their running shoes and hit the historic 26.2-mile course from Hopkinton to Boston. That’s four more than last year. Some are seasoned marathoners chasing new records, while others are taking on the challenge for the first time.

Among the thousands of athletes tackling the world’s oldest annual marathon, Worcester’s contingent will push through the famed Newton Hills, power down Beacon Street, and cross the iconic Boylston Street finish line.
