The heat is on in Worcester — and we’re not just talking about the weather. From molten metal art demos to classic rock throwbacks and a 200th birthday party for the books, here are five sizzling ways to get out and enjoy the city this weekend.
Here are five picks of things to do in Worcester this weekend:
- Art and beats in the back yard: Vincent’s Bar turns its backyard into a pop-up paradise this Sunday, July 20, from 1–6 p.m. with the return of the Backyard Gallery. Expect a dozen local artists slinging handmade wares, live music filling the air, and plenty of drinks and bites to keep you happily parked. Hosted by Cold Moon Arts, Tora Hubacz, and the folks at Vincent’s — it’s the chillest way to art-hop this weekend.
- Rock, roll & return: Brookfield Rhythm is back and ready to blow the roof off Greendale’s with a high-voltage tribute to classic rock. Expect hits from Fleetwood Mac, the Eagles, Tom Petty, Pink Floyd, and more — performed with serious energy and spot-on precision. Dancing is encouraged, air guitar is inevitable. Show starts at 8:30 p.m. Friday, July 18.
- Hot night, handmade magic: The Worcester Center for Crafts cranks up the flames for Hot Night in the City on Friday, July 18, starting at 4 p.m. Celebrate the fiery side of craft with live demos in clay, glass, and metal; food trucks; live music; and hands-on fun. Inside, catch the “Artists on Fire” exhibit curated by Juniper Rag, work from Mary Aroian in the Community Gallery, and shop from 300+ makers in the Handcrafted gift shop. Rain or shine, it’s a scorchingly good time — and free to attend.
- Hearts, hits and home runs: Spend Saturday night under the lights at Fitton Field with the Worcester Bravehearts’ 2025 Stay-Cation game. On July 19 at 6:30 p.m., enjoy a pre-game show by Maximum Edge and help launch the Bravehearts’ Back-to-School Donation Drive. It’s a feel-good night of baseball, community spirit, and giving back — all rolled into one.
- 200 years young—and still partying: Celebrate the EcoTarium’s 200th birthday on the 200th day of its 200th year—Saturday, July 19, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.—with a full day of free family fun at 222 Harrington Way in Worcester. Expect hands-on science, live animal encounters, food trucks, vendors, the Explorer Express Train, planetarium shows, and interactive exhibits both inside and out. Plus, don’t miss In Time, an immersive theatrical escape room experience by internationally touring company Live History. No registration needed—just bring your curiosity (and maybe a party hat). Donations welcome but not required.
