Here are five picks of things to do in Worcester this weekend:
- Working on your night moves: With Live Bullet, the area’s best Bob Seger tribute, returning to Halligan’s in Auburn, on Saturday, April 6. Named after Seger’s 1976 live album the band is celebrating its tenth year of paying tribute to this Detroit rocker by covering his wide catalog of hits.
- Plant yourself this weekend: Plant lovers are invited to bring whole plants, cuttings, propagations, shoots, seedlings, or seeds to swap with others. The trade is one-for-one. That means if you bring five items, you leave with five items. This event is now donation-based to help support Burncoat Center for Arts and Wellness, where the event takes place from 1-4 p.m.
- Teens make DIY spa kits: Teens are invited to spend an afternoon at the Frances Perkins Branch of the Worcester Public Library to make DIY spa kits to take home. At the workshop, teens can create self-care items such as natural face wash, toner and clay face masks. This is open to ages 12-17 and takes place on Friday, April 5, from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Registration is highly recommended because spaces tend to fill up.
- Telling it to your heart: The Awesome ‘80s Prom is back, for the 21st time, with special guest Taylor Dayne and openers The Flock, playing the tunes from the decade of excess, flash, and synthesizers. Hosted by WXLO, the prom returns to Mechanics Hall on Saturday, April 6, starting at 7 p.m. The VIP tickets get attendees a table, food and a special bar. General admission is $40.
- Comedian by night: That’s what Corey Manning calls himself. He works at Prime Video by day, but tells jokes at night. He’s telling jokes at the Chester P. Tuttle Post in Auburn on Saturday, April 6. Get tickets here. And get a taste of his humor here:
- Bonus pick: It’s not on the weekend, but plan ahead to take in the spectacular solar eclipse on Monday, April 8. Here is some information and places to best view it.
