Here are five picks of things to do in Worcester this weekend:
- Look out and look up! It’s “Art on the Line,” a fast and furious artsy fundraiser for ArtsWorcester. This is how it works: artist donate hundreds of small-scale, two dimensional pieces of art, all of which are suspended from the gallery ceiling and priced at $20 each. Line up before the doors open, and then dive in to claim the art you love. Admission is $10, and the event takes place at 44 Portland St. from 5-7 p.m.
- Rolling up with legendary rap: Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, an American hip hop group formed in 1991 in Cleveland, Ohio, consists of rappers Bizzy Bone, Wish Bone, Layzie Bone, Krayzie Bone, and Flesh-n-Bone. Signed to Eazy-E’s Ruthless Records in 1993, they debuted with the EP “Creepin on ah Come Up” in 1994, featuring the hit single “Thuggish Ruggish Bone.” The legendary group headlines “The Roll Up” tour, which also includes DJ Craze, Lil Easy E, at the Palladium on Saturday, April 13.
- Autism awareness benefit weekend: This two-day event sponsored by the Whole Puzzle Company benefits HMEA’s Autism Resource Center in Worcester with a list of bands too long to even list here, including Cruel Hand, Terminal Nation, Fool’s Game, Fool’s Game, Cross of Disbelief, I Have No Mouth, Slighted and Exhibit. Doors open at 1 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday at the Polish Naturalization Club, Millbury Street.
- Friendly read: Friends of the Worcester Public Library are hosting a weekend book sale, Friday and Saturday, at the library in Salem Square. The spring sale offers books for adults, kids and teens in hardcover, paperback and trade paperback. Merchandise is also available. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.
- Comedy to benefit Jeremiah’s Inn: Yuck it up with comedians Jerry Caruso, “the master of comedy,” along with his buddies Paul Durrance, Mike Keating, and Martin Holman and Debra Lbahy, at this fundraiser for Jeremiah’s Inn, a recovery program and nutritional center for men in Worcester. The event, which is at 7 p.m. on Saturday at the Spencer Country Inn, includes raffles and light refreshments.
