Calling Worcester small businesses for Small Biz Saturday 2025

Worcester Guardian invites local shops, makers, and service providers to share how they’re taking part in Small Business Saturday on Nov. 29

WORCESTER—Sandwiched between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Small Business Saturday may be the smallest gear in the holiday shopping machine, but it’s the one that keeps the whole thing grounded. The day returns Nov. 29, and we’re once again looking to spotlight the Worcester shops, makers and entrepreneurs who give the city its character, quirks and unmistakably local heartbeat.

Founded by American Express in 2010 and co-sponsored by the U.S. Small Business Administration since 2011, the day has grown into a nationwide push to “shop small” during the busiest stretch of the holiday season. The SBA notes that more than 36 million independent businesses rely on this momentum—and Worcester is full of them.

This year, the Worcester Guardian is inviting local businesses to tell us how you’re participating. Are you rolling out specials, hosting a pop-up, collaborating with other shops, or doing something entirely your own? Whether you run a craft studio, indie boutique, bakery, barbershop, repair service, or anything in between, we want to hear from you and help readers discover you.

If you think your business deserves a feature, email carsenault@theworcesterguardian.org with “Small Business Saturday” in the subject line and tell us about it. Please include your business name, location, what you’re planning for Nov. 29, and what makes your place stand out.

And if you want to see which Worcester businesses are officially participating through the national Shop Small directory, you can browse the map provided by American Express.

Let’s celebrate the local spots that keep Worcester running—not just on Small Business Saturday, but all season long.
