WORCESTER — Centro, a local nonprofit that supports the Latin American community in Central Massachusetts, announced Thursday the cancellation of this year’s 33rd Latin American Festival, originally scheduled for Aug. 16, 2025.

In a statement, Interim President and CEO Tina Velazquez said the decision was made “after careful consideration of several factors beyond our control,” adding that this year’s circumstances made it “impossible to host the event in the way our community deserves.”

The popular downtown festival has been a summer staple for more than 30 years, drawing thousands of attendees for live music, food, and cultural celebration.

“Canceling was not an easy decision,” the announcement read, “but it is the most responsible course of action this year.”

Centro expressed gratitude to its partners, sponsors, and volunteers for their continued support, and reaffirmed its commitment to celebrating Latin American culture in Worcester.
