WORCESTER – The city is alive and kicking, with tons of stuff to do for all ages and tastes. Each Thursday, the Worcester Guardian highlights events and activities you may want to consider over the upcoming weekend.
Here are five picks of things to do in Worcester this weekend, Oct. 27-29:
1. Sharing Cultures and Traditions
2-7 p.m., Saturday
This community event hosted by World of Foods Worcester centers around creating a smorgasbord of world foods and cultural traditions for attendees to discover in a vibrant, family-friendly atmosphere. Taste foods and explore dishes from a variety of local food businesses, food trucks and creative vendors. Worcester bands knock out covers to celebrate Halloween – in a rocking, musical way. The show takes place on Friday, Oct. 27, at 8:30 p.m. at Hotel Vernon, Kelley Square, home of the $2 draft beer and the speakeasy where Babe Ruth boozed. $5 donation requested.
3. Science Tricks and Animal Treats
10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday
The EcoTarium puts on an event that is equal part treats and equal part tricks—animal tricks. On Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 28 and 29, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. families are invited to a Halloween event that includes hair-raising science and a visit from some creepy-crawly critters. It also includes a Glow Zone and trick-or-treating. Tickets for nonmembers range from $14-$19.
4. Howl-o-Ween Pawty for the Pups
