Here are the Worcester Guardian’s five picks for things to do in Worcester this weekend:
- Disney On Ice Brings Moana, Bruno, and More to Worcester: Disney magic takes the ice this weekend as Disney On Ice: Jump In! makes its New England premiere at the DCU Center, October 23–26. The all-new show features more than 50 beloved characters — including first-time appearances from Moana 2 and Inside Out 2’s Anxiety — plus world-class skating, dazzling aerial stunts, and singalong hits from Frozen, Encanto, Zootopia, and Toy Story. Showtimes run Thursday through Sunday, with tickets available at Ticketmaster.com or at the DCU Center box office.
- Boo in the Woo brings frights (and Fall fun) to the park: Polar Park trades fastballs for fear this weekend with Boo in the Woo, a haunted after-dark walkthrough for ages 12+ and a family-friendly fall fest by day. The nighttime “restoration tour” of a zombie-overrun ballpark runs Friday–Sunday at 6, 7, and 8 p.m. ($29 advance, $31 day-of). During daylight hours, Boo in the Woo for Kids (Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.) offers pumpkin decorating, a hay maze, games and costumed WooSox mascots.
- Game Show Mashup Brings Laughs and Prizes to Free Play: Part comedy show, part TV throwback, and all chaos, The Game Show Mashup hits Free Play Worcester on Wednesday, Oct. 23. Hosted by Worcester comic Charlie Arsenault — who jokes he’s “the Bob Barker of the Worcester comedy scene” — the show blends stand-up, improv, and audience participation for a night of laughs, surprises, and upcycled prizes. Arsenault is joined by comics Shaun Connolly, Patrick McKinstry and special guests. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., show at 8 p.m., at Free Play Rewind Lounge, 25 Union St. Admission is $8 and includes arcade access.
- Sunday Sounds and Local Bites at Market on Brussels: Wrap up your weekend with live music, fresh food and community vibes at Worcester’s Market on Brussels this Sunday, Oct. 26. Located behind the former Rotman’s Furniture building on Brussels Street, the open-air market runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. …. this week with tunes from Lisa Marie, Johnny Juxo and Johnny Blue Horn from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Shop locally made goods, sip craft beer or coffee, and grab something sweet while soaking up the final weekend of the season. Fresh produce, great music, and good company — it’s Worcester at its best.
- Totally Tubular Tunes: Back to the 80s at Rascals: Dust off your neon and tease that hair — it’s time to party like it’s 1985. Back to the 80s makes its Rascals debut this Saturday, Oct. 26, bringing a high-voltage night of retro hits from Bon Jovi, Blondie, Prince, Van Halen, and more. Doors open at 8 p.m., and the nostalgia runs strong until 11. Big sound, big hair, bigger memories — this is one blast from the past you don’t want to miss.
