Here are five picks of things to do in Worcester this weekend:
- Screaming about it: Horror fans, rejoice! Silver Scream Con returns to the DCU Center in Worcester this weekend, kicking off early with a Thursday night movie double feature. The convention runs from Friday through Sunday, offering panels with horror stars, photo ops, autograph sessions, and live performances. Don’t miss Ice Nine Kills live at The Palladium Outdoors on Saturday, too.
- Ah, an enchanted forest: Step into a world of magic at the Enchanted Forest exhibit, featuring more than 30 fairy houses by artist Sally J. Smith. Explore the whimsical woodland garden daily from August 17 to October 31 at New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill in Boylston, with special evening events on select weekends.
- Day of Play Family Festival: Now in its 13th year, Edward Street’s Day of Play Family Festival is back on Saturday, Sept. 14, at Elm Park. This free, one-day festival features more than 60 fun, interactive activities across eight play areas which emphasize how young children learn through play. It includes musical performances, art activities, an obstacle course, STEM and early literacy activities entertain participants large and small.
- In a pickle: A summer send-off pickleball tournament takes over Rt. 12 Pickle in West Boylston this weekend, with tournaments taking place all weekend for all divisions, skill levels. All players get T-shirts and giveaways, and the games will be broadcast live on WCRN and WPXZ FM. Food available for purchase, too. Go here for more details and to register.
- It’s Floyd from Down Under, mate: The Australian Pink Floyd Show comes to the Hanover Theatre on Friday, Sept. 13. Known for recreating Pink Floyd’s iconic live performances, TAPFS features state-of-the-art lighting, pinpoint lasers, inflatables, and flawless sound. The band delivers a memorable tribute, showcasing music from every phase of Pink Floyd’s legendary career. The show starts at 8 p.m.
