Man dead in Worcester domestic incident; police search for woman who may be armed

Worcester police are searching for 58-year-old Karen Solomon following the death of a man at a Wildwood Avenue residence Tuesday morning

A man is dead following what authorities are calling a domestic incident in Worcester early Tuesday, and police are searching for a 58-year-old woman who they warn may be armed.

The Worcester Police Department is actively seeking Karen Solomon in connection with the investigation into the man’s death, according to an alert posted by the department Tuesday.

Police said the man died at Solomon’s residence. WCVB reported that the incident occurred on Wildwood Avenue, where investigators were at a home Tuesday morning. The Worcester County District Attorney’s Office is also involved in the investigation, according to WCVB.

Police have not released the identity of the man who died or disclosed the circumstances or cause of his death.

Solomon is described as a 58-year-old white woman with dark brown hair and brown eyes. Police said she was last seen wearing pajama shorts and a tank top and was on foot heading toward Westcott Street.

“There is concern she may be armed,” Worcester police said in the department’s alert.

WCVB reported that aerial footage from its Sky5 helicopter showed investigators gathered at a gray-and-white ranch-style home on Wildwood Avenue, with a crime scene tent set up in the backyard.

Authorities had not announced an arrest as of Tuesday afternoon, and Worcester police were continuing to search for Solomon.

Police are asking anyone who sees Solomon to contact the Worcester Police Department at 508-799-8606 or call 911.

The investigation remains active. The Worcester Guardian will update this story as additional information becomes available.
