Man wounded in Water Street shooting

Police say 31-year-old expected to survive; detectives investigating

WORCESTER—Worcester police are investigating a shooting that left a 31-year-old man wounded Monday evening near the intersection of Water and Harrison streets.

According to a police announcement, officers and detectives responded to the area at about 6:10 p.m. for a report of a gunshot victim. They arrived to find a Worcester man with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to a local hospital, where he is expected to survive, police said.

The shooting is believed to be an isolated incident, according to the announcement.
