WORCESTER—As Patriots fever builds ahead of Super Bowl Sunday, one Worcester school is showing its team spirit in a big—and very local—way.
May Street School has been temporarily renamed “Maye Street School” in honor of New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye, a playful show of support as the team prepares to represent the AFC in Super Bowl LX.

The temporary name change was made official this week when Superintendent Brian E. Allen presented a declaration to Principal Luke Robert during a district-wide principals meeting, according to a post from Worcester Public Schools.
“This is an exciting time for our students, staff, and school communities as the Patriots return to the Super Bowl,” Allen said in a statement shared by the district. “For years, we watched Tom Brady and the team play at the highest level, and now our kids in Worcester can see Drake Maye and this year’s team doing the same. Moments like these can really inspire our students to dream big and work hard.”

The renamed sign, along with photos of students and staff sporting Patriots gear, quickly drew attention on social media, adding to the growing buzz across the city as game day approaches.
The name “Maye Street School” will remain in place through Super Bowl Sunday. If you beep and wave to the sign while driving by, it may bring some extra luck to the Pats.
