One dead, two injured in Worcester domestic stabbing

Worcester police say one person was killed and two others were hospitalized following a domestic incident on Sunrise Avenue Friday afternoon

One person is dead and two others were injured following a stabbing at a Worcester residence Friday afternoon, according to Worcester police.

Police responded to 17 Sunrise Ave. at approximately 3:36 p.m. after receiving a report of a stabbing, Worcester Police Department Communications Specialist Joseph Cersosimo said.

According to police, the incident was domestic in nature.

One person died as a result of the stabbing. The victim’s identity has not yet been released.

Two additional people were transported to a hospital for treatment of injuries connected to the incident. Police said Friday evening they did not yet know how those injuries were sustained.

Cersosimo said there is no danger to the public.

Television footage from the scene showed police tape surrounding two homes on Sunrise Ave. as investigators worked in the area.

Police have not released information about a possible suspect, whether anyone is in custody, or the conditions of the injured individuals.

The incident remains under investigation.
