Railers captain Anthony Repaci returns for sixth season in Worcester

The Worcester Railers have re-signed franchise scoring leader and captain Anthony Repaci, making the longtime forward the team’s first player under contract for the 2026-27 season

As the Worcester Railers begin building a roster for a new era of hockey in the city, they are starting with the player who has been at the center of the franchise for most of its history.

Captain Anthony Repaci has re-signed with the Railers for the 2026-27 season, the team announced, bringing back the franchise’s career leader in nearly every major offensive category as Worcester prepares for its first season affiliated with the St. Louis Blues organization.

Repaci, 31, returns for his sixth season in Worcester and fourth as captain. He is the first player officially signed to the Railers’ roster for the upcoming season, with additional roster announcements expected in the coming weeks.

The signing provides an element of continuity as the Railers enter a period of change. Worcester begins the 2026-27 season with a new NHL affiliation after its relationship with the New York Islanders organization ended following last season.

Repaci has become the most statistically accomplished player in Railers history during his five seasons in Worcester. He holds franchise records for games played, goals, assists and points, along with each of the team’s major power-play scoring records.

In 291 games for Worcester, Repaci has recorded 117 goals and 138 assists for 255 points. His special-teams totals include 30 power-play goals, 51 power-play assists and 81 power-play points.

His durability was on display last season, when Repaci played all 72 games for the first time in his career. He finished the year with 23 goals and 31 assists for 54 points, matching the second-highest single-season point total of his career.

Repaci also remained one of the league’s most active shooters. His 240 shots ranked fifth in the ECHL and left him one shy of the career-high 241 he recorded during the 2024-25 season. According to the team announcement, he has finished among the league’s top five in shots in each of the past two seasons.

Repaci’s role with the organization has also extended beyond the ice.

The Railers named him their Community Service Player of the Year for the third consecutive season following the 2025-26 campaign. The team credited his participation in its community initiatives as part of the organization’s eighth consecutive nomination for the ECHL Community Service Team of the Year Award.

Repaci has also been selected as the team’s Fan Favorite for five consecutive seasons in voting by the Worcester Railers Booster Club.

With training camp still months away, Repaci’s signing represents the first concrete piece of the Railers’ 2026-27 roster. Head coach and general manager Nick Tuzzolino is expected to continue assembling the team over the coming weeks as Worcester prepares for its first season in a new NHL organizational pipeline.

For the Railers, however, the first move was a familiar one: bringing back the player who has played more games, scored more goals and recorded more points in a Worcester uniform than anyone in franchise history.
