WORCESTER—Amy Chase already owned four stores as part of her collection at Crompton Place. Why not a fifth, and this one named after her beloved pup?
“Sol Rune was named after my puppy, and if you know me, that’s right on brand,” Chase told the Worcester Guardian.
Sol Rune, whose storefront is at 19 Harrison St. at the former home of Birch Alley, underwent a light remodel on April 1, opened softly on May 15, and is celebrating a grand opening on Saturday, June 1, opening at 11 a.m. She said opening the new store was easy, and they were “very fortunate with the process.”
Chase describes Sol Rune as “a home decor boutique with a very earthy, bohemian vibe that features some clothing and accessories and small gift items.”
She chose the location for the same reason she opened Crompton Collective, in 2012, and her other businesses in the first place: “because of its vintage bones.”
“It has amazing tin ceilings and original wood floors that would highlight our product in a very beautiful way,” she said. “We also love the Canal District. We spend a lot of time here already, so it made a lot of sense to expand over here.”

For Chase, expanding in the Canal District is a no-brainer, and her love for the city and area runs deep.
“It’s really a destination where you can meet your family or your friends and spend the day here,” said Chase. “You can shop, eat lunch, catch a baseball game, and go to dinner. There is really so much value here, which is why we chose to open here in 2012 and then expand in 2019 and in 2024.”
The grand opening will include cupcakes from the Queen’s Cups, empanadas from Che empanada and specialty iced teas from Crosenest. There will also be a “charm bar” with Roulette jewelry and designer items from Sweet Jane’s Designer Consignment as well as raffle items from the Thomas Rothwell Spa, Kelley Square Pizza, the Rail Trail, Woo Juice and the Queen’s Cups.
