WEBSTER—A Southbridge woman was arraigned Tuesday in connection with a crash that killed a 10-year-old girl earlier this month, according to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office.
Sherry Plitouke, 35, faces three charges—motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and speeding in a special regulation zone—in the death of Marleigh Guevara.
Plitouke was held on $25,000 bail following her arraignment in Dudley District Court, the district attorney’s office said in a release.
The charges stem from an April 11 crash on School Street in Webster involving a pedestrian. Police responded to the scene and provided emergency aid before the child was taken to UMass Memorial Medical Center, where she died the following day.
The incident remains under investigation by Webster police, the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council and state police detectives assigned to the district attorney’s office.
No additional details were released.
