Here are five picks of things to do in Worcester this weekend:
- Handmade Holiday Happenings: The Unitarian Universalist Church of Worcester’s Holiday & Craft Vendor Fair, happening Saturday, Dec. 7, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., is the perfect place to get some items checked off the holiday shopping list. Wander through rooms brimming with local crafters, unique vendors, and a festive atmosphere. Don’t miss the highly anticipated basket raffle and silent auction, which opens the same day. Preview the auction right here.
- Spinning in: Catch DJ Brownie (Marc Brownstein of the Disco Biscuits) at Electric Haze on Friday, Dec. 6, with doors opening at 7 p.m. Joining him are Cakewalk, Mealz, and Sunshine at Night, alongside Bethany Miller’s 8th art show featuring original works. Expect deep house, disco vibes, and beats that keep the floor alive. It’s a fine fusion of music and art to kick off the weekend.
- Santa’s breakfast buffet: Join Santa for breakfast at Quinn’s Irish Pub on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 9-11:30 a.m. Hosted by Worcester School Committee Member Molly McCullough, this event features a breakfast buffet for $15 per person. Proceeds support the Planting the Seed Foundation’s Toy Drive. Choose between two seatings: 9–10:15 a.m. or 10-11:30 a.m. Space is limited, so call 508-459-2025 to reserve a spot. Donations for photos with Santa and gift contributions are welcomed.
- Christmas on the Farm: Celebrate the season at Whittier Farms in Sutton on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Enjoy horse-drawn wagon rides, pony rides, and a visit from Jake the Lion of the Worcester Bravehearts. Kids can explore the John Deere Sand Pile and Peddle-Tractor Course or check out the Reinsteins and Touch-A-Tractor displays. Savor sweet treats at Mrs. Claus’ Bake Shop and a homemade lunch menu from the Sutton Lions Club featuring soups, shepherd’s pie, fried dough, and more. Hop on a trolley for free rides to other Sutton Chain of Lights locations.
- Shop local at stART at the Station: Brought to you by the stART on the Street team, kick off your holiday shopping at the 18th annual stART at the Station on Sunday, Dec. 8, at Union Station, Worcester. With a special preview hour from 9-10:30 a.m. ($10 admission) for crowd-free browsing, the event opens to the public for free from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Explore handcrafted gifts from hundreds of local artists, enjoy food, and catch live entertainment. It’s the perfect way to support local talent and find one-of-a-kind presents this season.
