WORCESTER—Redemption Rock Brewing Company, a popular Worcester brewery known for its vibrant community-focused space, has announced it will be closing at the end of December. The brewery shared the news in a heartfelt social media post, stating its final day of operation will be Sunday, Dec. 29.

“It is with equal parts sadness and gratitude that we’re announcing that Redemption Rock Brewing is closing,” the post read. “Despite our best efforts, we simply haven’t been able to grow the business enough to remain open. And we’ve run out of time. But for the time we did have, we’re forever grateful.”

Since opening nearly six years ago, Redemption Rock Brewing has been a hub for community activities, offering a space for quiet afternoons, lively evenings, first dates, birthdays, weddings, and even gaming nights. The brewery also supported local nonprofits, small business owners, and artists, creating a multifaceted gathering place.

“Before we ever opened, our vision was to be a canvas for the community. And for nearly six years, we were exactly that, in so many wonderful ways,” the post continued. “This place was a special, joyful, and welcoming space, and that’s entirely a reflection of the people who spent their time here.”

The brewery’s leadership expressed profound gratitude for their employees, calling them the “heart and soul” of Redemption Rock. From building a vibrant café program to beautifying the taproom and organizing events, the staff were lauded for their dedication and creativity.

“For nearly six years, our community shared their lives with us. Together, we created something unique and memorable. Those memories will live with us forever, and so will our gratitude for everyone who had a part in it,” the announcement said.

In the weeks leading up to the closure, Redemption Rock plans to “finish strong,” maintaining regular hours, hosting planned events, and continuing to provide the atmosphere that patrons have come to love. The brewery also noted that all employee tips during this period will go directly to the staff and encouraged visitors to give generously.

“Will it get crazy busy here in December? We sure hope so,” the post concluded. “And we hope you’ll come and celebrate with us as often as you can, or at least for one last beer.”

The announcement has prompted an outpouring of support and reminiscing from patrons, many of whom have shared their favorite memories of time spent at the brewery. Redemption Rock Brewing’s legacy as a community-oriented space will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on Worcester.
