WORCESTER—A woman was killed, and a man was initially injured early Thursday morning in a shooting described as a domestic incident at a residence on Gingerbread Trail in Worcester, according to multiple reports.

On Monday, Nov. 11, police said that the man involved in the incident had succumbed to his injuries and died at the hospital, reported WCVB.

Police were called to the scene around 2 a.m., finding a female victim who had suffered a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the residence, according to WCVB-TV and NBC TV-10. A man was also found injured and was taken to the hospital for treatment of his own gunshot wound.

Neighbors, who described the family as private, noted that they believed three generations lived in the home. Karen Dauderis, a nearby resident, shared that the family mostly kept to themselves, adding, “It’s scary, especially being so close,” she told WCVB.

Gingerbread Trail was temporarily shut down as officers conducted their investigation, and police vehicles lined the street early in the morning, per WHDH. Police have not identified the individuals involved, nor have they disclosed the nature of the relationship between them. Officials did, however, confirm that there is no danger to the public at this time.

More details have yet to be released as the investigation continues.
