WORCESTER—Police are asking the public’s help to locate the driver of a vehicle that hit a man early morning, injuring him severely.
On July 19, 2024, around 3:10 a.m., a pedestrian on an electric scooter was traveling east on June Street when he was struck by a vehicle. The 26-year-old male who was hit was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The operator of the vehicle did not stop and fled the scene, the strike captured on surveillance video (which is shared on WPD’s Facebook page). While it is dark, here is a clip that shows a car approaching the electric scooter.
The car in question is described as a blue four-door sedan, with fog lights and rims. Any damage on the vehicle would be located on the front passenger’s side bumper, hood, or even windshield.
Jacob Tetreault’s mother shared with NewsCenter 5/WCVB that he was on his way home from his job at a nearby Wendy’s when the accident occurred, and that he is being treated for broken bones at UMass Memorial Hospital and is unable to walk.
