WORCESTER—Putting a spotlight on the growth of the African- and black-owned businesses in Worcester and Central Massachusetts, the second annual New England African American Business Expo takes place on Saturday, May 4, from 1-5 p.m. at Worcester State University.

Hosted by the Massachusetts Organization of African Descendants, Jermoh Kamara, former Worcester School Committee and president of MOAD, said that “the goal of the African Business Expo is to educate members of the black and African community on economic development and success which may include, how to start and sustain a business; job acquisition and professional development, interview preparation and dress code; and lastly to shine light on resources available to everyone living in or around Worcester.”

The keynote speaker for the event is Dr. Chioma Ugochukwu, senior vice president for academic affairs at Anna Maria College, where she assumed the role in September. There are also panel discussions led by nine inspiring professionals in business, finance, and professional development.

Hundreds are expected to attend the event, which has more than 30 vendors scheduled to participate.

It’s open to all, and more info, including a schedule can be found here: 2024 New England African Business Expo.
