WORCESTER—The Quinsigamond Community College Foundation has added five new faces to its board of directors, bringing fresh experience and renewed energy to the organization dedicated to supporting student success.

The new directors, elected over the summer months, will help the foundation advance its mission of providing accessible, high-quality education through scholarships, programs, and community partnerships.

“This isn’t just about adding new names to our board; it’s about strengthening the heart of the Quinsigamond Community College Foundation,” said Foundation President Jorgo Gushi in an announcement. “With the new directors, our capacity to change lives grows.”

The new members bring a mix of financial, marketing, and nonprofit expertise. Alyssa Benefit, a digital marketing executive at The Aspen Group, has over 18 years of experience across healthcare, technology, and retail sectors. Jessica Favreau, vice president and commercial lending officer at Dean Bank, manages a commercial loan portfolio exceeding $120 million and also serves as president of the QCC Alumni Association.

Jennifer Hernandez, CEO of GEM Marketing Solutions and a QCC alumna, has spent more than 15 years supporting entrepreneurs and small businesses. Jacob Rucker, a private equity analyst and co-founder of the Worcester innovation accelerator Auxilium, brings financial and strategic insight. Jetari Veal, assistant vice president at Workers Federal Credit Union, leads community engagement initiatives and sits on multiple local advisory boards.

“Having dedicated, community-oriented leaders on our foundation board is essential,” said QCC President Luis Pedraja. “Their deep understanding of the college, our students and the broader community provides invaluable insight, helping guide informed decisions that create meaningful and lasting impact for our students.”

The newly expanded board joins a team of continuing members, including vice president James M. Griffin, treasurer Linda Cavaioli, and other longstanding directors. The Foundation continues to prioritize initiatives that directly support students, especially those who are first-generation college attendees, working parents, or immigrants navigating school alongside family and work responsibilities.

“Our mission is simple but profound: to open doors for students who carry big dreams but also big burdens,” said Gushi. “Many of our students quietly wonder if they belong. And through this foundation, our answer to them is yes.”
