WORCESTER—A Worcester-based nonprofit supporting women diagnosed with breast cancer has been selected as one of just five organizations nationwide to receive a $10,000 grant through a national collaborative giving campaign.

Pawsitively 4 Pink was awarded a $10,000 Bonus Impact Grant as part of the 2025 “Close the Gap” campaign, a partnership between Grapevine and the Nextdoor Foundation that distributed $127,500 to grassroots nonprofits across the country.

The organization was chosen from among dozens of nonprofits nationwide based on what the campaign described as “demonstrated exceptional community endorsement, strong alignment with local needs, or the potential for significant expanded impact.”

Pawsitively 4 Pink, founded in 2018, provides financial and emotional support to low-income and underserved women in Massachusetts who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. The nonprofit offers assistance throughout treatment and recovery and also incorporates trained rescue dogs as emotional support companions for survivors and their families.

The Worcester nonprofit was nominated through Worcester Women for Good, a local giving circle that previously helped Pawsitively 4 Pink secure matching funds through the campaign. Earlier this year, the organization received a $930 matching grant tied to a local award totaling $2,070, with a goal of raising $3,000.

The Close the Gap campaign was designed to strengthen small, community-rooted nonprofits by pairing local giving with national matching funds. In total, the 2025 initiative funded 54 nonprofits across 24 states and Washington, D.C., with five organizations selected for the $10,000 Bonus Impact Grants.

Pawsitively 4 Pink was the only Massachusetts nonprofit to receive a Bonus Impact Grant this year.
