WORCESTER—Vendor applications opened up for the 2026 Out to Lunch Festival & Farmers’ Market, which returns to the Worcester Common Oval every Wednesday from June 24 through Aug. 26, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The 10-week series, organized by the Downtown Worcester Business Improvement District in collaboration with the City of Worcester, has become a regular feature of the city’s summer calendar. Organizers said in a release that more than 10,000 people attended the event in 2025, and they expect continued growth this year.
Out to Lunch features food vendors and trucks, farmers, artists, makers and nonprofit organizations, along with weekly live music. The event is designed to draw residents, workers and visitors downtown during the lunch hour.
Two themed festival dates are scheduled for the 2026 season: July 15, celebrating Disability Pride Month, and Aug. 5, recognizing National Farmers’ Market Week.
“Out to Lunch has become a reliable, high-energy opportunity for vendors to connect directly with thousands of people in Downtown Worcester,” Katelyn O’Brien, executive director of the Downtown Worcester BID, said in the announcement. “We’ve made intentional investments in the vendor experience, from improved layout and production to a larger, more visible farmers’ market, so our vendors can focus on what they do best. Whether you’re a small business, farmer, artist or maker, or local non-profit organization, this is a chance to grow your audience and be part of something that’s thriving.”
Fabian Barracks, cultural development officer for the City of Worcester, added in the release, “Out to Lunch offers vendors a unique opportunity to take part in a popular Downtown event that consistently draws strong crowds and celebrates local businesses. The festival creates a welcoming, energetic environment where vendors can build visibility, connect with new customers, and contribute to the cultural life of the city.”
The BID is seeking food trucks, food vendors, farmers, artists, crafters, makers and nonprofit organizations to participate in one or more festival dates.
The deadline to apply is March 31 at 11:59 p.m. Applications will be reviewed after the deadline, with vendors notified of their status by April 15, according to the announcement.
