WORCESTER—Employees at The Hanover Insurance Group and the company itself contributed more than $1.5 million to nonprofit organizations nationwide through the insurer’s annual employee giving campaign, the company announced Thursday.

The Worcester-based insurer said the funds will be distributed in 2026 to more than 2,000 nonprofit organizations across the country, including United Way, Feeding America and the Boys and Girls Club of America, as well as numerous local and regional charities. The total includes matching contributions from The Hanover’s charitable foundation.

The annual campaign, which the company said it has sponsored for more than 70 years, saw participation from 82% of employees in 2025.

“Each year, our employees show what it truly means to lead with purpose,” John C. Roche, president and chief executive officer of The Hanover, said in a statement released by the company. “Their generosity and commitment reflect our culture and our belief that strong companies help create stronger communities.”

The company said the campaign supports nonprofit organizations serving individuals and families across a range of needs, including food insecurity, housing assistance and youth programs.

Betsy Myatt, vice president and chief program officer for the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation and executive director of its Northeast Division, said the organization was among the recipients of funds raised through the campaign.

“Funds from The Hanover employee giving campaign will directly help us serve the communities where we live and work, and our neighbors in need,” Myatt said in the company’s announcement.

The Hanover is headquartered in Worcester and operates nationally. More information about the company’s community initiatives is available on its website.
