Clark University joins United Nations Academic Impact

Membership strengthens commitment to global education and sustainability

WORCESTER—Clark University has joined the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI), a global initiative that connects higher education institutions with the UN’s mission to promote human rights, sustainability, and access to education.

The university’s School of Business led the effort to join the initiative, making Clark part of a network of 1,700 institutions across 156 countries working toward UN goals.

“This membership recognizes the work undertaken here at the School of Business in promoting local, national, and international social engagement,” School of Business Dean David Jordan said in the announcement. “It also reflects Clark University’s broader reputation in driving social initiatives as part of our academic environment.”

The UNAI focuses on ten core principles, including peace and conflict resolution, sustainability, and global citizenship, while supporting the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

“Clark University has a long history of working toward a more just and sustainable world,” President David Fithian said. “Joining the UNAI expands our network while we continue to address urgent social, political, and ecological challenges.”

Clark’s School of Business has also been a signatory to the United Nations Principles for Responsible Management Education since 2011, further underscoring its dedication to ethical and sustainable business practices.
