The Department of Parks, Recreation & Cemetery announced Tuesday that renovations will start Monday, Nov. 3, at the Beaver Brook dog park, followed by similar work at Vernon Hill once the first project is complete.

According to the city, the improvements include new pea and rice stone surfacing, benches, trash receptacles, a water bottle filling station and solar lighting at Beaver Brook. Construction is expected to take about two months, weather permitting.

A separate project takes place downtown, where roughly 3,000 square feet of concrete pavers will be replaced along Worcester Common at Franklin Street.

That work is also scheduled to begin Nov. 3 and to last approximately two months.

City officials said daily construction will be phased to minimize disruptions to sidewalks, crosswalks, pathwaysside and access to Worcester Common and City Hall.

The bus shelter and bus stop at the site will remain open throughout construction, and detour signs will be posted if needed.
