DPW to host Worcester jobs fair; 90 positions up for grabs

With nearly 100 openings, the city seeks to fill key public works roles at an upcoming hiring event

WORCESTER— The city’s Department of Public Works & Parks (DPW&P) is looking to fill nearly 90 positions and is inviting job seekers to explore career opportunities at its upcoming jobs fair.

The event takes place on Saturday, March 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 50 Officer Manny Familia Way in Worcester.

Attendees get the chance to meet one-on-one with DPW&P and Human Resources staff to learn about available jobs, the application process, and the benefits of working for the city.

“DPW&P is an essential part of the city’s municipal operations,” City Manager Eric D. Batista said in a press release. “This is a great opportunity for individuals to learn more about how they can build a career in public works, the benefits of a job with the municipality, and the impact DPW&P workers can have on residents’ quality of life.”

The department is hiring for a variety of roles, including motor equipment repair and operation, engineering, forestry, and administrative positions. DPW&P plays a vital role in maintaining Worcester’s infrastructure, from street and sidewalk repair to snow removal, trash pickup, and park maintenance.

The event will be family-friendly, featuring giveaways and on-site job applications.
