There’s a whole lot to do this weekend in Worcester, but all our picks appear to fall on Saturday. This weekend’s got a pizza battle, an old fashioned bike ride, a Black Sabbath tribute, a creepy new exhibit and a food truck and brew fest on the common. Get out and do something.
Here are the Worcester Guardian’s five picks for things to do in Worcester this weekend:
- Ride in style: Tweed Ride rolls in, and out: Trade your Lycra for linen and your spandex for a bow tie — it’s time for the Worcester Tweed Ride. Hosted by the long-pedaling Seven Hills Wheelmen, this five-mile, slow-paced spin starts Saturday, Oct. 11, at 11 a.m. in the Ralph’s Diner parking lot. Riders will roll through bits of Worcester history before ending with a picnic and tea at Rural Cemetery. Bring your own lunch, your best vintage flair, and yes — your helmet. RSVP to Dale Wickenheiser at 617-461-0557 or dalewickenheiser@hotmail.com.
- In crust we trust: Worcester Pizza Fest is back: Clear your schedule — and your arteries — for Worcester Pizza Fest, happening Saturday, Oct. 11, from noon to 5 p.m. at Greater Good Imperial Brewing. Some of the city’s best pizza joints sling their signature slices, including Pomodoro’s, Blue Jeans, Burncoat Pizza, Pizza Works, Kelley Square Pizza, Monti’s, Parrot Pizza, Travelin’ Pizza, Home Plate Pizza and Fratelli’s Corner Crust. Save room for dessert — Froze Zone will be on site with homemade gelato. Kids under 10 get in free; tickets available at Eventbrite.
- Creepin’ It Real at Hunchback Gallery: Hunchback Gallery embraces the spooky season with “Creepin’ It Real,” a showcase of eerie, imaginative and bone-chilling works by local artists. The exhibit opens Thursday, Oct. 9, from 6–9 p.m., and runs through Nov. 1, 2025. Gallery hours: Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday noon to 6 p.m., by appointment, and during the No Jerks Network Meetup on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 6–8 p.m. Featured artists include Aaron “SaintDevil” White, Alice Tanzer, Altered Panels, Denise Satterfield, GOOD AT JOB, Grhimm Xavier, Haro Serrentino, Jeremy Gable and Camillo Kearns, Jill Strait, Mags, Mariana Cicerchia, Marissa North, Matt Burgos, Matt King, Michelle de Celia Lucia e Genevieve, Nikki Erskine, Nilbog tnt, Octopus Skeleton, Quibx, Ray Bernoff, Salty Monster, Sarah Thompson, Scott Boilard, Scott Holloway, Sean Hodgdon, Shawn Carlin, Shmontray Jacquett, Tara Bilotta, Travis Duda and Yokai.
- Dark Side of the Sabbath: Ralph’s Diner keeps the engines roaring nightside with Bass Sabbath, a Black Sabbath tribute duo, and KrankenWagen, tackling the sounds of Pink Floyd on the outdoor stage. The show caps off the motorcycle show earlier in the day. Rain or shine, Ralph’s will be rocking — Saturday, Oct. 11, starting at 9 p.m. at Ralph’s Diner. Save and order your tickets online.
- Rolling feasts and cold brews on the common: The Worcester Food Truck and Craft Beer Festival rolls into Worcester Common on Saturday, Oct. 11, from noon to 5 p.m., serving up a smorgasbord of eats from more than 20 local food trucks alongside regional and national craft beers. Enjoy lawn games, live music, and a local artisan market packed with handmade goods. Advance tickets are half-off at $5 online ($10 at the gate), with discounted packages available for the early birds.
