MILFORD, MA—A Milford man has been sentenced to 15 to 18 years in prison after pleading guilty to voluntary manslaughter in the 2021 killing of 54-year-old Paul T. Weaver, whose body was found inside a storage locker on Beach Street, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.
Prosecutors said 32-year-old Christopher P. Tetreault admitted to fatally stabbing Weaver, whose body was discovered on Aug. 17, 2021. An autopsy by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined Weaver died from multiple stab wounds and ruled the death a homicide. Investigators also found that some of Weaver’s personal property was missing from the scene.
Tetreault was arrested a week later, on Aug. 24, in Charlottesville, Virginia, by members of the Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office, the Milford Police Department and the Virginia State Police. He was later returned to Massachusetts, arraigned in Milford District Court, and indicted by a Worcester County Grand Jury in September 2021.
Tetreault also pleaded guilty to two counts of larceny from a building and received concurrent 2–3-year prison sentences.
“It is our hope that this plea provides some closure to Mr. Weaver’s family after this tragedy,” Early said in a statement announcing the plea. He also praised Senior First Assistant District Attorney Jeffrey Travers, Assistant District Attorney Louis Tosches, and Victim Witness Advocate Maria Deyette for their work on the case.
Early thanked the Milford Police Department and multiple Massachusetts State Police units for their investigative work, along with the Virginia State Police and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
Milford Police Chief Robert Tusino said in the announcement, “I’d like to thank the Milford Police Detective Bureau, Massachusetts State Police, and Worcester County District Attorney’s Office for their hard work and collaboration in bringing closure to this case.”
