WORCESTER—A heavy police presence drew attention to the lower West Boylston Street area Wednesday afternoon after Worcester police responded to a reported threat circulating on social media.
According to police, officers were dispatched to the area around 12:41 p.m. on July 23 after receiving a report of a possible threat involving weapons.
Following an initial investigation, police determined the threat was not connected to the area. No further details about the nature of the threat or its origin have been released.
The department said the incident remains under investigation.
