Quinsigamond Community College Campus Police Sgt. Daniel Litchfield made it through one of the country’s best-known law enforcement leadership training programs, marking another milestone in the college’s efforts to strengthen professional development within its police department.
Litchfield recently completed the FBI-Law Enforcement Executive Development Association (FBI-LEEDA) Trilogy series, a three-part leadership program that focuses on preparing law enforcement supervisors and command staff for leadership roles.
According to the announcement, the Trilogy consists of the Supervisor Leadership Institute, the Command Leadership Institute and the Executive Leadership Institute. The coursework covers topics including accountability, organizational effectiveness and implicit bias awareness.
QCC officials said Litchfield is the third officer in the department to complete the full program, joining Police Chief Stephen DiGiovanni and Deputy Chief of Police Operations Mike Vigeant. All of the department’s patrol sergeants have also completed the Supervisor Leadership Institute.
“FBI-LEEDA offers some of the top training in the country,” Chief Stephen DiGiovanni said in the announcement. “This ensures that we are consistent, make the best possible decisions in the field and set the example for new officers. Sergeant Litchfield has shown great leadership and effort in his 20 years at QCC.”
For Litchfield, the accomplishment represents more than completing a series of courses.
“Completing the FBI-LEEDA Trilogy is more than earning a certificate; it’s a commitment to leadership, service, and the continual pursuit of excellence,” Litchfield said in the announcement.
FBI-LEEDA is a nonprofit organization that provides leadership education and professional development for law enforcement officers across the country.
Quinsigamond Community College said the training reflects its continued investment in professional development for campus police officers and its commitment to maintaining high standards in campus public safety.
