WORCESTER—The Worcester Railers Hockey Club is teaming up with Worcester Public Schools for a family-friendly Halloween celebration at the DCU Center, offering local students a free night of hockey and trick-or-treating.
The “Halloweekend Game” takes place Friday, Oct. 31, when the Railers face off against the Reading Royals at 7:05 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m.
Through the partnership, Worcester Public Schools students receive complimentary tickets with the purchase of at least one adult ticket. Families are encouraged to arrive early for “Trick O’ Treat on the Concourse,” featuring candy and giveaways from local nonprofits in a safe, indoor setting.
“This is a fun and safe way to celebrate Halloween and trick-or-treat, especially for those who may live in areas that are less walkable or have higher traffic,” said Railers Chief Operating Officer Michael G. Myers in a press release. “It’s all the fun of Halloween, while also getting to enjoy a Railers game.”
Kids can also get creative with pumpkin painting, take part in an on-ice costume parade during the first intermission, and compete in a Halloween costume contest for a Railers Prize Pack.
As part of the promotion, the team is extending its $10 Kids Ticket deal — typically available only for Sunday games — to the Halloween matchup. For every adult ticket purchased, fans can buy one kids ticket for $10, presented by the MBTA Commuter Rail.
Fans can also take advantage of “3-4-5 Fridays,” offering $3 popcorn, $4 sodas, and $5 Bud Lights at the Bud Light Lounge.
The Halloween game follows the Railers’ 2025-26 opening weekend on Oct. 18-19, when the team hosts the Maine Mariners and Adirondack Thunder. Season memberships for the Railers’ 508 Club are on sale now. More information is available at RailersHC.com.
