The Bra Shop expanding beyond Worcester with second location in Wellesley

The Worcester-born specialty boutique plans to open its second location in Wellesley this November, five years after the business got its start in the city

Five years after getting its start in Worcester, The Bra Shop is expanding east with plans to open a second location in Wellesley this fall.

The specialty lingerie boutique expects to open in November at 22 Church St., nearly a year after relocating and expanding its original Worcester store downtown.

The Wellesley shop brings the business closer to customers in MetroWest and Greater Boston, some of whom already travel considerable distances to Worcester for its professional bra-fitting services, according to an announcement from the company.

“We have built a reputation as the premier destination for bra shopping,” The Bra Shop President Stephanie Ramey said in the announcement. “Women often travel more than an hour to meet with our team, learn about proper fit and have access to an abundance of styles and sizes. Opening in Wellesley gives us an opportunity to bring that experience to a new community and make professional bra fitting more accessible to women throughout MetroWest and Greater Boston.”

Founded in Worcester in 2021, the business specializes in professional fittings and carries bras in band sizes 28 through 48-plus and cup sizes A through O, along with lingerie, sleepwear, loungewear, gifts and accessories.

The company has built much of its business around one-on-one fittings rather than relying solely on conventional band and cup measurements. Trained fit specialists work with customers to determine which sizes, shapes and styles work best, while teaching customers what to look for when shopping on their own.

The expansion comes during a busy period for the Worcester business.

Formerly known as The O Shop, the company relocated from Richmond Avenue to a larger space at 303 Main St. in downtown Worcester and rebranded as The Bra Shop in November 2025.

Last month, it launched Project Uplift in partnership with United Way of Central Massachusetts and with support from the Worcester Railers Hockey Club. The program provides eligible girls in grades 5 through 12 with free professional fittings, sports and everyday bras and education about proper fit and care.

Now, less than a year after its Worcester expansion, the business is preparing to enter a second market.

“We know there is an underserved market for lingerie and, in particular, access to professionals who truly understand bra fitting,” Ramey said in the announcement. “What we do is unique, personalized, and important. We are excited to bring that experience to more women while becoming part of the Wellesley community”.

The Wellesley location will carry many of the same brands offered in Worcester, along with an expanded selection chosen for the new market. Professional fittings will be available by appointment, while walk-in customers are also welcome.

The company has not announced a specific November opening date.
