WORCESTER—Women’s sports have seen a surge in popularity in recent years, with stars such as Caitlin Clark drawing record-breaking crowds and boosting visibility across leagues. In that spirit, the Worcester Railers Hockey Club hosts a Women in Sports Night on Friday, Jan. 7, at the DCU Center, featuring a pre-game panel of accomplished women in the sports industry.

Presented by Nichols College, the event brings together professionals from hockey, college athletics, high school sports, marketing, and fundraising to discuss their journeys and offer insight into careers in sports.

“We’re looking forward to bringing some really strong role models into our arena this Friday,” said Railers team president Kim Golinski, in a press release. “Women’s sports have continued to see a rise in mainstream popularity over the past few years, and we’re excited to expand on that dialogue by bringing this conversation to the forefront.”

The discussion is moderated by Dr. Patty Raube Keller, secretary of WISE Boston and Program Director for Sports Administration at Boston College.

“We’re really going to talk about what it takes to get a job in sports, to be successful, and to sustain in the industry,” Keller said in the announcement. “It’s not just being a GM or a coach. There are so many different avenues to working in sports, and we’re going to describe those, how to get there, and how to make a successful career in doing it.”
