WORCESTER—After years with the organization, Ariana Falk is stepping into a bigger role. The biggest role. The Worcester Chamber Music Society (WCMS) has appointed Falk as its new executive director, effective May 1, 2025. Falk succeeds founding Executive Director Tracy Kraus, who announced her retirement last fall.
Falk, a familiar face within the organization, has served as both a core musician and education director. She oversees WCMS’s Neighborhood Strings program, which provides free music lessons to young people in Worcester’s Main South and Downtown neighborhoods.
“After 13 years of leading our group’s education work, I’m thrilled to take over as executive director of Worcester Chamber Music Society,” Falk said in the announcement. “I’m honored to lead a group of musicians so dedicated to the community, and excited to build on our rich tradition of chamber music and education.”
Kraus expressed confidence in her successor. “I could not be more pleased and excited to see Ariana step into this leadership role. She deeply understands the organization and shares a passion for our mission and vision.”
Founded in 2006, WCMS has grown beyond its concert performances to include community-focused initiatives like Music Heals, a free concert series in healthcare and social service settings, and ChamberFest, an intensive workshop for adult musicians.
Board President Jeffrey Paster praised Falk’s leadership and contributions, noting her role in securing a $1 million grant for the organization. “Ariana brings a wealth of experience, skills, and passion to this role,” he said.
With Falk at the helm, WCMS looks to continue its dual mission of bringing world-class chamber music to Worcester while expanding its educational and community programs.
