WORCESTER—The Worcester Fire Department is hosting two information sessions this month for individuals interested in pursuing a career as a firefighter.
The sessions are being held Saturday, June 14, at 9 a.m. and Wednesday, June 18, at 6 p.m. Both take place at the WFD Training Division facility behind Fire Headquarters at 141 Grove St.
Participants learn about the steps required to join the department, including qualifications, the application process, and training expectations. Registration for either session is available online at this link.
“Firefighting is an extremely difficult but rewarding career, where members make a positive difference in the community each day,” Fire Chief Martin Dyer said in the department’s announcement. “If you are willing to work hard and have a desire to serve, we want to talk to you about the process of becoming a firefighter.”
The department is encouraging anyone with an interest in public service and a willingness to commit to rigorous training and teamwork to attend.
