Tickets available for Worcester Guardian second anniversary event

The Worcester Guardian will mark its second anniversary with a community celebration Wednesday, Oct. 8, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Museum of Worcester, 30 Elm St.

Admission is free, but advance registration is encouraged.

The event will bring together readers, supporters and community partners to recognize the Guardian’s growth as Worcester’s free, independent nonprofit digital news organization. Guests will enjoy light refreshments, networking and the chance to connect with the publication’s staff and board of directors.

“We’re proud of our first two years and grateful to the Worcester community for embracing us,” said Dave Nordman, the Guardian’s lead consultant. “This celebration is about sharing that success and celebrating with those who have supported us from the start.”

The program will open with a cocktail hour and welcome from 5 to 6 p.m., followed by a panel discussion, “From Broadsides to Broadband: Worcester’s News Legacy,” from 6 to 7 p.m. hosted by Hank Stolz.

The panel will feature representatives from the American Antiquarian Society, Museum of Worcester, Worcester State University, The 016 and The Worcester Guardian.

The evening will close with a meet and greet from 7 to 8 p.m., giving attendees another opportunity to connect with community members and the Guardian team.
