WORCESTER—The Worcester County Sheriff’s Office is hosting an open house at the Worcester Community Justice Support Center on Wednesday, Oct. 2, from 1-3 p.m. The event, led by Sheriff Lew Evangelidis, offers the public and local stakeholders a chance to tour the facility and learn about the programs available for community support and rehabilitation.
Located at 365 Main St., the center is operated in partnership with the Office of Community Corrections, and offers rehabilitative and support services to individuals involved in the criminal justice system. It provides resources such as educational programs, job training, substance abuse treatment, and mental health support to help individuals reintegrate into society. The goal of the center is to reduce recidivism by addressing the root causes of criminal behavior and supporting participants in their journey toward stability and self-sufficiency.
At Wednesday’s event, attendees can meet with representatives from nearly 15 local service providers, including the Office of Community Corrections, District Attorney Joseph Early’s Office, MassHire, the Worcester Public Library, and Everyday Miracles. There are also presentations from the Sheriff’s Office staff who discuss the center’s services aimed at helping Worcester County residents.
