WORCESTER—Worcester closed the doors on hosting an official First Night (raise your hand if you miss it!) quite a few years ago, but the city has plenty of ways to ring in 2026, whether you’re celebrating with family, friends, or going out for a memorable night. From kid-friendly countdowns to live music and themed parties, here’s what’s happening around town:
EcoTarium Noon Year’s Eve
Ring in the new year early with a kid-centric celebration called Noon Year’s Eve at the EcoTarium from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Activities include time capsule building, rocket launches, planetarium shows, a resolution wall, crafts and a noon countdown perfect for families.
Game over, 2025 — press start on 2026
Ring in the New Year at Freeplay Bar & Arcade in Worcester with unlimited access to more than 100 arcade games, pinball, skee-ball, air hockey, and DDR. DJ Kai Rule keeps the party going in the Rewind Retro Dance Lounge with hits from the ’80s, ’90s, and 2000s, giving you plenty of chances to dance between high scores. Doors open at 5 p.m., the Rewind lounge opens at 9 p.m. and admission is $12 — perfect for beating your Pac-Man record before the countdown hits zero.
Honkytonk New Year’s Eve at Off The Rails
Kick off your evening with live country-with the Midnight Riders and honkytonk-style music, dancing and a champagne toast to welcome 2026. Table seating with dinner and party favors is available.
Noon Year’s Eve, Mouse-Approved
Little kids don’t need midnight to feel the magic. Bear’s Play Space hosts a Noon Year’s Eve celebration with open play, music, and a special mouse-led countdown at noon — all the excitement of New Year’s Eve, just on toddler time. The 90-minute event takes place at 31 Harvard St. and is open to all families, with discounts available for siblings and foster families.
Mega Reveillon NYE Favela Encantada at the Palladium
Get immersed in Brazilian culture with music, dance and samba rhythms at this lively New Year’s Eve party — complete with festive décor and a midnight toast.

Dress to the Nines: A Roaring ’20s New Year’s Eve at VUE
Ring in the New Year high above the city at VUE cocktail lounge and event venue, perched atop Worcester’s iconic glass tower. This First Night celebration comes in two stylish acts: an elegant 1920s cocktail “dinner” party with jazz standards, caviar, a raw bar and a vintage vibe on the 23rd floor, followed by a full-on Roaring ’20s dance party upstairs with live music by Niki Luparelli and The Grave Diggers, late-night bites, and a sparkling midnight toast. Go refined, go raucous — or do both for the ultimate night out. Either way, it’s a rare chance to celebrate New Year’s Eve with skyline views, live entertainment and serious Gatsby energy. Must be 21+.
Do-Si-Do Into 2026: Square Dancing on New Year’s Eve
Trade the crowded bar scene for a joyful, all-ages square dance party at Unity Hall inside the First Unitarian Church. A professional caller will walk dancers of all experience levels through the moves, with square dancing in one room and games in another, making this an easygoing, social way to ring in the New Year. Doors open at 6 p.m., with a 10 p.m. countdown, and guests are encouraged to bring their own drinks and an appetizer to share. Families, couples, singles, teens and kids are all welcome — just bring your sense of rhythm (or at least your sense of humor).
