WORCESTER—Worcester police responded shortly before 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 17, to a serious pedestrian crash near Clover and South Ludlow streets.
Officers arrived at the scene to find two victims, both of whom were immediately given medical assistance and transported to a nearby hospital.
One of the victims, a 35-year-old woman, succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The second victim, also female, sustained less severe injuries.
The Worcester Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit launched an investigation into the incident. According to the preliminary findings, the pedestrians were crossing South Ludlow Street when they were struck by a vehicle traveling southbound toward Auburn. The vehicle, after hitting the two pedestrians, collided with another car. The investigation remains ongoing.
