WORCESTER—Worcester’s startup scene is set to take center stage this April with the launch of StartUp Week Worcester, a multi-day event designed to inspire, educate, and connect entrepreneurs, business leaders, and investors. Hosted by Auxilium and the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce and presented by M&T Bank, the event runs from April 8-10, bringing together key players in the region’s innovation ecosystem.

StartUp Week Worcester features an Innovation Crawl on April 8, offering participants a guided tour of the city’s leading innovation hubs, including Polar Beverages, WPI Innovation Center, and Massachusetts Biomedical Initiatives (MBI). The day will conclude with the WooTank Intercollegiate Showdown, a pitch competition where student entrepreneurs will vie for funding and mentorship from a panel of investors.

The event continues on April 9 and 10 with a series of free educational panels covering critical topics such as startup branding, legal basics, AI in entrepreneurship, leadership development, and securing funding. Organizers aim to provide entrepreneurs with the knowledge and connections needed to thrive in Worcester’s expanding startup landscape.

“This will set the groundwork for an annual tradition, celebrating Worcester’s past, present, and future as an entrepreneurial hub,” said Zak Dutton, executive director of Auxilium, in a statement. “Our goal is to highlight what already exists and create pathways for even more founders to succeed here in Central Mass.”

The launch of StartUp Week Worcester aligns with Auxilium’s broader efforts to position Worcester as a premier destination for startups. The innovation hub, currently under development at 311 Main St., is part of Auxilium’s mission to foster entrepreneurship through funding, mentorship, and strategic partnerships. Its collaboration with Rhode Island’s RIHub is already expanding opportunities for startups in both states, creating a more interconnected regional ecosystem.

Through shared networks and educational programs, part of the mission of the partnership is to address common challenges startups in Worcester and Providence face, such as limited access to capital, mentorship gaps, and disconnected ecosystems.

“Worcester has a rich history of innovation and entrepreneurship,” said Tim Murray, president of the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce. “This event will showcase that legacy while demonstrating why Worcester is an ideal place to launch and grow a business.”

StartUp Week Worcester is made possible through the support of local partners, including Wilmington Trust, Verdantas Flow Labs, Silicon Valley Bank, Bowditch Attorneys, and the Worcester Business Journal.
