Worcester’s website gets backend upgrade

City moving to a new content management system March 29

WORCESTER—The city is making a behind-the-scenes change to its website this weekend, shifting to a new content management system (CMS) that officials say will streamline operations and improve functionality.

The transition, scheduled for Saturday, March 29, won’t drastically change the look or layout of worcesterma.gov, but users may notice some minor tweaks to certain features as they migrate to updated applications. According to the Department of Innovation & Technology, the move aligns the site with the city’s official Style Guide and lays the groundwork for future improvements.

While the content and structure of the site will remain largely the same, the upgrade represents an important step in modernizing the city’s digital infrastructure.

The city has not announced any expected disruptions to the site during the transition.
