WORCESTER—Working for Worcester, a student-led initiative dedicated to enhancing local recreation and educational areas, is gearing up for its upcoming Build Day this weekend, announced the nonprofit.

On Saturday, April 13, volunteers convene at 9 a.m. at Worcester City Hall, alongside city officials and government representatives. After a brief rally, volunteers then disperse to various locations across the city to tackle impactful projects such as playground installations, landscaping, and painting.

Each site addresses specific needs aimed at improving community spaces and providing safe environments for families and children to enjoy. Beyond the tangible improvements, Build Day fosters a sense of community spirit and volunteerism, bringing together college students and community members to make a hands-on difference in Worcester’s well-being.

“Engaging in efforts for Worcester transcends mere construction of recreational spaces; it embodies the cultivation of communal bonds,” said Aidan Busconi, Working for Worcester’s CEO, in a statement. “Every element of play infrastructure we install — from swing sets to basketball hoops — symbolizes our unwavering commitment to enriching the lives of the city’s youth and fostering a more vibrant community for all.”
