WORCESTER—Joelle Prata has been promoted to associate head coach of the Holy Cross women’s lacrosse team, head coach Amanda Belichick announced Monday.
Prata, who joined the Crusaders’ staff as an assistant coach in 2022, will continue to serve as defensive coordinator and work with draw specialists. Her new role also includes expanded responsibilities in the day-to-day leadership of the program.
“Joelle has been an integral part of our program’s success over the last four years,” Belichick said in a statement. “We are very fortunate to have her in this new position, and look forward to accomplishing many great things together in the years ahead.”
Under Prata’s guidance, Holy Cross has turned in consecutive winning seasons and back-to-back trips to the Patriot League semifinals. The Crusaders finished 10-8 overall and 5-4 in conference play in 2025, after posting a 12-6 overall record and 6-3 mark in league competition in 2024.
The 2025 team also set single-season program records for points (380) and assists (141), following a record-setting 2024 campaign that saw the Crusaders notch a school-best 241 goals.
Before arriving at Holy Cross, Prata served as head women’s lacrosse coach at Tusculum University in Tennessee from 2019 to 2021, following a year as a graduate assistant with the program. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Lees-McRae College in 2017, and a master’s in organizational training and performance management from Tusculum in 2021.
