62-year-old man dies after pedestrian crash on Hope Ave.

A 62-year-old Worcester man died after being struck by a vehicle Sunday night on Hope Ave., according to Worcester police

WORCESTER—A 62-year-old Worcester man died Sunday night after being struck by a vehicle on Hope Avenue, according to Worcester police.

Police said officers were called at approximately 9:16 p.m. May 10 to the area near 137 Hope Ave. for a report of a pedestrian who had been hit by a vehicle.

The man, identified by police as James McGuire of Worcester, was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

A preliminary investigation indicates McGuire was attempting to cross the street when he was struck, according to Worcester police.

No other injuries were reported.

The Worcester Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating the incident.
